Mehmet Akif Ersoy University students carried out a meaningful run to raise awareness for the international Wings for Life World Run organized to find a cure for spinal cord paralysis.
Run for Hope Against Spinal Cord Paralysis at MAKÜ
At the event held at MAKÜ Sportoto Stadium, it was run with a group of 40 volunteer students. The organization and coordination of the event were undertaken by Uğur Kıraslan, a 2nd-year student of the Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department. This volunteer initiative, led by Kıraslan, was successfully completed with the contributions of students who came together with a sense of social responsibility. In the run, two students participated in wheelchairs to draw attention to the living conditions of spinal cord injury patients. This meaningful detail added a dimension of empathy and awareness to the event. The event was brought to life with the support of MAKÜ's esteemed academic staff. Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Emrah Atay, Prof. Dr. Elif Top, and Lecturer Emirhan Pehlivan stood by the students with their support for the organization and contributed to the strong realization of the event. This run organized by MAKÜ students was appreciated as a strong reflection of social sensitivity and the spirit of volunteerism among university youth.
